Pre-Care for Permanent Make-UpPrior to
the procedure:
- Do not drink caffeine or take any medications with
caffeine in them.
- Do not take any stimulants of any kind. (i.e. diet
pills, herbal supplements, etc.)
- Do not take any aspirin product.
- Do not drink any alcoholic beverages.
- Do not use any type of exfoliation product on the skin
48 hours prior to procedure. (i.e. granular scrubs, alpha
hydroxy acid products, etc.)
- Do not tan 48 hours prior to procedure.
- Do not use a wax depilatory in the area to be treated.
- If client is receiving the eyeliner procedure, contacts
should not be worn.
- Do not use Retin-A, Tretinoin or Cleocin-T for 14 days
prior to procedure. Accutane patients must be off of
Accutane for 1 year prior to procedure.
- Do not take oral Vitamin E for, at least, 2 weeks prior
to the procedure.
- If receiving a lip procedure (i.e. lipliner or full lip
color) and are prone to cold sores, consult a physician
regarding an oral prescription.
Post-Care for Permanent Make-UpAfter the
procedure:
- Apply an occlusive to the affected area such as Petroleum Jelly for 7-10 days
after the procedure.
- Do not pick any scabs that may form. If scab is removed,
color may also be removed.
- Do not use any exfoliation products 3-5 days after
procedure. Once area starts to scab, a gentle granular scrub
can be used around the area.
- Do not touch area with fingertips 3-7 days after
procedure.
- Do not tan for 3-5 days after procedure.
- Do not go into hot tubs, saunas, or swimming pools for
3-5 days after procedure.
- Do not use Retin-A, Tretinoin, Cleocin-T or Accutane
until 14 days after procedure.
- Apply sunblock to eyebrows and/or lips after procedure
so no fading will occur.
